WWE Produced FCW Documentary Airing After Elimination Chamber On WWE Network

Via today’s edition of The Bump, WWE has confirmed that they’ll be releasing a full-length documentary entitled Future of WWE: The Story of FCW on Sunday, Mar. 8 following this year’s Elimination Chamber PPV. The show will cover WWE’s modern version of Florida Championship Wrestling, a promotion out of Tampa, Florida that was the precursor to what we now know as NXT. The documentary will feature “new interviews with the Superstars and coaches who built FCW from the ground up, as well as never-before-seen, behind-the-scenes footage.”

Operated by Steve Keirn from October 2007 to August 2012, FCW aired on local Tampa television and featured many WWE talents fans are now more than familiar with. Everyone from Bray Wyatt to Seth Rollins to Roman Reigns got their start in FCW, often under developmental gimmicks. The show’s archives are full of hidden gems, including a stunning bout between Daniel Bryan and Low Ki and a triple threat match between all three members of The Shield.

WWE Network ahs previously had clips from FCW in their Hidden Gems section, but they’re no longer available after the Network’s recent redesign. One hopes that WWE will put the FCW archives on the network in full so fans can see where a lot of WWE’s biggest current stars got their starts.
