As the spread of the COVID-19 virus continues to cause concern across the world, the lucha libra scene in Mexico might have now been affected by the issue, with AAA’s Rey de Reyes show being postponed.
Yesterday, the mayor of Merida, Mexico, announced the suspension of weekly public gatherings. While he didn’t mention the AAA show by name, it is one of the many public gatherings occurring, so it was only a matter of time before the show was postponed.
Taking to social media, the company confirmed the postponement. The show was supposed to feature All Elite Wrestling superstar Kenny Omega, who was primed to defend his AAA Mega Heavyweight Championship. Instead, fans will have to wait for more information on whether or not the show will occur sometime this year.
