The Rock Confirms He And His Family Tested Positive For COVID-19, Issues Statement

Dwayne Johnson recently took to Instagram to reveal that he, his wife Lauren, and his two daughters had all tested positive for COVID-19.

In a video from Johnson, he opened the video by sharing the shocking news, calling their diagnosis “one of the most challenging and difficult” things that they’ve ever had to go through, mainly due to the fact that his family also contracted the virus.

Thankfully, Johnson said that everyone in their family seems to be through the worst of it. “Testing positive for COVID-19 is a lot different than recovering from nasty injuries, getting evicted or being broke, which I’ve been more than a few times,” he said. “My No. 1 priority is to always protect my family and my loved ones … I wish it was only me that tested positive. It was my entire family and it was a kick in the gut. We in a family are good, we’re on the other end of it and no longer contagious. Thank God, we’re healthy.”

Johnson said that thankfully, his two children didn’t have much more beyond a sore throat, but that Johnson and his wife had a more difficult time through it. While Johnson said that he and his family are through the worst of it, he also took time to acknowledge those who are less fortunate, and said that he’s known many people who have lost loved ones to the virus. “We are counting our blessings right now. We are well aware you don’t always get to the other end of COVID-19 stronger and healthier. I have had some of my best friends lose their parents to this virus that is so incredibly relentless and unforgiving. We are counting our blessings, but we are good.”

The caption along with Johnson’s post reminds his fans and anyone watching to stay disciplined, wear a mask, and make sure to be strict about having people or hosting any gatherings.
