During a live edition of Thatch-As Thatch-Can, Timothy Thatcher demonstrates a few reversals on his student Akeem. Thatcher locks in a wrist lock but refuses to let go. Thatcher eventually lets him go. Akeem says this is supposed to be an exhibition. Thatcher offers Akeem some water. Thatcher tells Akeem it’s his turn to reverse a hold on him. Before Akeem can, Thatcher turns Akeem’s hold into an Achilles lock. Akeem taps out faster than Superman on speed. August Grey attacks Thatcher. Grey superkicks Thatcher and he falls out of the ring over the barricade.
Backstage, Xi Li says the letters she received from Boa were letters from her family. Li says it’s none of our business what the letters say. Li says she has to turn things around. Regal walks in and delivers a letter to Li. Li reads it and asks Regal for a match again Raquel Gonzalez. Regal agrees to give Li the match.
The Velveteen Dream vs. Tommaso Ciampa
Ciampa comes to the ring in a new mask and ring jacket. The look is reminiscent of the more recent Scorpion designs (Mortal Kombat). Dream tries to attack Ciampa before the bell rings but Ciampa immediately goes after Dream’s injured arm. Ciampa tries to rip Dream’s cast off. Dream narrowly avoids a stomp to the cast by Ciampa. Dream slams his hands on the announce desk in frustration. Dream immediately regrets it.
Dream sends Ciampa into the barricade. Ciampa drops Dream on the barricade. Running knee by Ciampa. Ciampa drops Dream on the announce desk. Ciampa slams Dream’s injured arm on the announce desk. Ciampa whips Dream into the corner. Dream goes head over ass and falls over the top rope into the barricade. Dream tries to leave but Ciampa drags him back into the ring. Dream escapes the Fairytale Ending. Ciampa stomps on Dream’s cast. After the break, Dream rips at Ciampa’s eyes. Dream fires up and lands a few strikes. Dream crushes Ciampa with a spinebuster. Ciampa fires up and manages to this a superplex for a near fall.
Ciampa slams Dream down to the mat by his arm. Dream counters the Fairytale Ending into a pin. Ciampa kicks out. Ciampa escapes the Dream Valley Driver. Dream suplexes Ciampa over the top rope but they both fall to the outside in the process. Dream superkicks Ciampa. Dream tosses a chair in the ring. As the referee is distracted Dream tries a shot off the top with the cast. Ciampa counters with a flying knee. Ciampa rolls Dream into the hangman’s position and hits Willow’s Bell. Ciampa transitions into The Fairytale Ending for the win.
