During the break, Malcolm Bivens walked down to the ring to talk to Rust. Bivens tells Rust that he is a star and to pick himself up. Bivens reaches out to give Rust a fist bump. Rust obliges. The two walk to the back together.

Number One Contender’s Match: Kyle O’Reilly w/The Undisputed Era vs. Pete Dunne w/Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch
Dunne and O’Reilly lock eyes. The UE gets into a brawl with Burch and Lorcan. Drake Maverick and Killian Dain run down to ringside to join the fight. Fandango and Tyler Breeze also join the fray. The group eventually fights to the back. Dunne takes down O’Reilly and locks in a modified surfboard with a crossface. O’Reilly escapes and mounts Dunne. O’Reilly transitions into a cross armbar. Dunne rolls out of it. Dunne and O’Reilly roll around on the mat trying to lock in various submission holds. Dunne floors O’Reilly with a clothesline. O’Reilly falls to the outside. Dunne misses a moonsault off the apron but he lands on his feet. O’Reilly and Dunne trade punches. The referee gets to nine before they both realize it and roll into the ring. O’Reilly floors Dunne with a stiff kick.
Dunne rolls out to the apron. O’Reilly spinal taps Dunne. Dunne falls out to the floor. O’Reilly and Dunne battle outside the ring. Dunne and O’Reilly take their fight back into the ring. Dunne surprises O’Reilly with a German suplex. Dunne tries the Bitter End but O’Reilly counters and lands a head kick. Dunne’s mouth is bleeding. Dunne reverses O’Reilly’s suplex into the x-plex. Dunne stomps on O’Reilly’s arm. Dunne bends both O’Reilly’s arms in ways they shouldn’t bend. O’Reilly lands a popup knee. Strike flurry by O’Reilly. O’Reilly crushes Dunne in the corner with a running elbow. Rolling butterfly suplex by O’Reilly. Dunne kicks out.
Dunne tries his patented rope flip but O’Reilly trips him on the top rope. O’Reilly and Dunne fight on the top rope. O’Reilly manages to German suplex Dunne off the top but Dunne lands on his feet. O’Reilly is stuck hanging in the tree of woe. Dunne kicks O’Reilly in the head. Dunne stomps O’Reilly as he hangs from the ropes. Dunne and O’Reilly fight out to the apron. O’Reilly and Dunne are locked in a tug-of-war; each man keeps pulling the other into the ring post. Dunne knees O’Reilly in the head then hits a powerbomb for a near fall. Dunne stomps on O’Reilly’s neck before locking in an armbar. O’Reilly manages to get to the ropes.
Dunne and O’Reilly counter each other’s moves over and over again. Dunne manages to lock in a guillotine. O’Reilly counters with a head and arm choke. Dunne lands a headbutt to break the hold. Dunne headbutts O’Reilly. O’Reilly responds with a brainbuster. Both men are down. O’Reilly gets to his feet and lands ax and smash. Dunne falls into the corner. Dunne’s mouthpiece flies out of his mouth after a jumping knee from O’Reilly. O’Reilly and Dunne trade submission hold. Dunne snaps O’Reilly’s fingers. O’Reilly suplexes Dunne off the apron. O’Reilly hits the King Kong Knee Drop to the back of Dunne’s head. Dunne is out cold. O’Reilly pins Dunne.
