New IWGP Heavyweight & Intercontinental Champion Crowned At Wrestle Kingdom 15, Jay White’s Night Two Opponent Set

Kota Ibushi won an incredible battle against Tetsuya Naito, and now he’ll move on to face Jay White on night two of Wrestle Kingdom 15.

The night one main event saw Ibushi beat Naito to win both the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Championship. Ibushi won the match after he blocked a Destino attempt before hitting a Kamigoya for the pinfall win.

After the match, Naito presented both titles to Ibushi, but the celebration was short-lived as Jay White came out to confront the new double champion and told him that his reign would only last day.

The night two match was set up after White won the G1 Climax Briefcase at Power Struggle 2020. He elected to wait for night two so he could face the winner of the night one match between Ibushi and Naito, who chose to defend both titles in the same match. Naito’s IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental title reigns both end at 128 days, as he won both titles at Summer Struggle in Jingu this August.
