Lee Moriarty Ends Warhorse’s 532-Day IWTV Title Reign

Warhorse’s 532-day reign as the IWTV Independent Wrestling Champion is over.

On Saturday, March 6, Lee Moriarty defeated Warhorse at  New South’s 2021 HOSS Tournament Night 2 to win the title.

Here’s the official announcement from IWTV (Internet Wrestling.TV):

Hanceville, AL: “The Apex of Combat” ended the record-shattering, 500-plus day reign of the now former champion, WARHORSE, at New South’s 2021 HOSS Tournament Night 2 on Saturday, March 6.

Moriarty earned his championship opportunity by virtue of winning The Masked Wrestler: Tournament Of Mystery, where he competed as the pink-hooded, Genkai defeating Logan Easton Laroux (Barf), Joshua Bishop (Skid) and Wheeler Yuta (Wyldkat) to earn his status as the “mystery opponent.” For months after his Masked Wrestler victory, Genkai’s identity remained a secret and was only revealed moments before his championship match began on Saturday night.

Widely touted by fans and other wrestlers as “the best wrestler in North America,” Moriarty’s victory was met with shocked excitement on social media and received a standing ovation in Hanceville.

Moriarty becomes just the seventh IWTV Independent Wrestling Champion in history, joining Jonathan Gresham, Tracy Williams, Orange Cassidy (2x), Kris Statlander, Erick Stevens and WARHORSE.

Moriarty has competed all over the wrestling world. He has been featured in various promotions, like Game Changer Wrestling and Warrior Wrestling.
