Matt Morgan’s Financial Connection To Joel Greenberg Highlighted In Investigation Tied To Florida Political Scandal

Former pro wrestler Matt Morgan was named in a recent Orlando Sentinel story in regards to his relationship with Joel Greenberg, who is now being investigated for his involvement in a sex trafficking case.

According to the Sentinel, Morgan started a company named “Blueprint Enterprises LLC” in October 2019 and in that same month began receiving monthly payments of $4,500 from the Seminole County Tax Collector’s Office that was led by Greenberg in that time. Morgan is retired from wrestling but still makes occasional appearances for charity events, including at the “Seminole Showdown” this past Saturday. He has served on the Longwood City Commission since November 2017, and also served as Deputy Mayor of Longwood from November 2018 until May 2019 and elected Mayor until September 2020.

According to the Sentinel, the Tax Collector’s Office has no proof of a contract with Morgan’s company, and auditors hired by the county after Greenberg’s arrest have found “no evidence of a work product” in relation to Morgan’s company. It was also explained by the Sentinel article that email records suggest Morgan was named to a list of employees and consultants “assigned to promote Greenberg’s office” on Twitter and Instagram.

The auditors have found that Greenberg issued contracts to multiple politicians tied to key figures in Florida’s current political scandals, and they consider most of these contracts “to be either excessive or unnecessary. ”

The Sentinel went on to explain that Morgan had been carrying a federal tax lien of an estimated $37,000 due to unpaid income taxes since 2011. Documents show that Morgan’s lien was released on October 9, 2019, just two days after he created the Blueprint Enterprises LLC. Audit records show that the Tax Collector’s Office began making payments to Morgan’s LLC three weeks later and had a total payout of $40,500.

The Sentinel reported Morgan did not respond to repeated requests for comment on the story.

Greenberg is currently facing 33 counts of various criminal charges, including stalking a political opponent, sex trafficking of a minor and conspiracy to bribe a public official. Greenberg is currently working on a plea deal and has been cooperating with federal investigators since last year in regards to information on Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz. Federal investigators are looking into Gaetz after Greenberg’s claims that they had recruited multiple women online and traded cash or gifts for sex with them, and had sex with a 17-year-old girl.
