In-Ring Segment: Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory
Gargano says there is a new sheriff in town and NXT needs a new champion to represent it. NXT doesn’t need Karion Kross, they need a respectable family man, they need Gargano. When Gargano was champion (for 50+) days NXT was perfect. Gargano can outwrestle Kross any day of the week. Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan interrupt. Dunne says Gargano is daft if he thinks he should be the number one contender. Gargano says he knows what Dunne is trying to do and they aren’t going to get roped into a fight. The Way are law-abiding citizens now. Theory wags his finger at Dunne as he is leaving the ring. Dunne grabs Theory’s hand and snaps his fingers.
Backstage, Regal tells Cole that what happened last week was one and done. Cole says it’s not over. Regal says Cole provoked Joe and Joe clutched him out. That should be enough. Cole says the fact that Regal isn’t reprimanding Joe for what he did last week is typical. Cole storms off.
Backstage, Gargano knocks on Regal’s office door (for the first time ever) and actually waits for Regal to tell him to come in. Gargano wants Regal to do something about what Dunne did to Theory. Regal books Gargano and Theory in a tag team match against Dunne and Lorcan tonight.
Io Shirai and Zoey Stark vs. Aliyah and Jessi Kamea w/Robert Stone
Shirai lands a dropkick followed by a dropkick in the corner. Stark tags in and works an armbar on Aliyah. Aliyah escapes and attempts a sweep. Stark flips to avoid the strike. Kamea tags in and trades pin attempts with Stark. Kamea lands a slingshot elbow for a near fall. Candace LeRae and Indi Hartwell walk down to the ring. After the break, Kamea and Aliyah are taking turns working over Stark. Stark manages to tag in Shirai, who clears the ring. Shirai hits the Over the Moonsault for the win.
Winners- Io Shirai and Zoey Stark
Shirai and Stark end up surrounded by LeRae, Hartwell, Dakota Kai, Raquel Gonzalez, Shotzi Blackheart, and Ember Moon. Everyone wants a shot at the tag titles. A brawl breaks out. LeRae and Hartwell don’t get involved. Samoa Joe walks down to the ring and calls for security to break up the brawl.
