Mercedes Martinez is reportedly dealing with a concussion.
The Wrestling Observer reported the news and noted that she could miss multiple weeks, there’s no timetable for her return.
Martinez likely suffered the injury on the June 29 episode of WWE NXT. At the end of a mixed tag match, Xia Li kicked Martinez in the head, and the veteran crumpled to the mat. Shortly thereafter, the match quickly ended, as Li pinned Martinez for the win. Right away, many fans worried for Martinez because the kick and the way she landed were concerning. Martinez hit the mat head-first when she fell down.
