Tyrus Beats Da Pope, Wins NWA World TV Title

Tyrus won the NWA World Television Championship at NWA ExtraPowerrr.

In the main event of the special YouTube episode, Tyrus defeated Da Pope to win the title, ending the former champion’s reign at 290 days. Had Da Pope won, he would have earned a shot at the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion because a victory would have been his seventh successful defense.

Tyrus, formerly known as Brodus Clay in WWE, is managed by Austin Idol. He made his debut for the promotion at the “Back For The Attack” in March. His signing was somewhat controversial, as he had been at the center of a sexual harassment lawsuit at the time. (The matter was later settled out of court.)
