AEW All Out Results (9/5/21)

CM Punk vs. Darby Allin

Allin gets a cinematic video before his entrance; he sits in a helicopter while it drags a bodybag that has “Best in the World” written on it. Allin jumps out of the helicopter to end the video. The Chicago crowd explodes when “Cult of Personality” hits and CM Punk walks to the ring. Punk and Allin stare each other down in a heated moment. “Clobberin’ Time” officially begins with Allin and Punk feeling each other out early on. A shoulder block knocks Allin down. The two stars continue to trade holds, and Punk drops Allin with an elbow to the face.

Punk slams Allin, and the former AEW TNT Champion narrowly dodges the Go To Sleep. Allin takes Punk down with an arm drag and hits him with a splash in the corner. Punk brutally whips Allin into the corner, and hits the ring post before he crashes to the floor. Punk continues to ground Allin and targets his back. The former WWE Champion traps Allin in an abdominal stretch and floors him with a backbreaker. Punk locks the abdominal stretch in again, but Allin fires back with a Stunner. Punk and Allin trade blows, and the former AEW TNT Champion gets a two count with a pin attempt. The Code Red gets Allin another two count.

Punk blocks the Coffin Drop, but Allin gets another two count by countering a back superplex and landing on top of Punk. The Go To Sleep knocks Allin out of the ring, so Punk can’t go for the pin right away. Allin barely gets back into the ring to beat the ten count. Punk hits his classic knee/clothesline combination. He signals that it’s Go To Sleep time, and he goes for it, but Allin fights out of the finisher with some elbows to the face. Allin sacrifices himself to take Punk down with a dive to the outside. He then hits a Swanton Bomb onto Punk, who made it back to his feet. Punk dodgs the Coffin Drop by simply sitting up, and Allin gets a two count ith a pin attempt, but Allin dodges the Go To Sleep.

Punk rocks Allin with a kick and drops Allin with the Go To Sleep for the victory.

Winner: CM Punk

Punk celebrates after the match. Sting comes to the ring to check on Allin before he shakes hands with Punk. Allin slowly gets back to his feet and shakes Punk’s hand.

Paul Wight vs. QT Marshall (With The Factory)

Marshall takes the fight to Wight, but the big man easily overpowers him. Wight hits his signature chop to the chest and steps on Marshall. Wight continues to dominate the bout, and even with some illegal interference from Aaron Solow and Nick Comoroto, Wight earns the easy victory with the Chokeslam.

Winner: Paul Wight

Backstage, Jon Moxley has a message for Minoru Suzuki ahead of their bout on Wednesday. Moxley calls getting in the ring with Suzuki the best drug in the world. He tells Suzuki, “Welcome to the jungle.”

AEW World Championship: Kenny Omega (c) (with Don Callis) vs. Christian Cage

At first, the match begins somewhat slowly. But the two rivals quickly pick up the pace, as Cage dives onto Omega outside the ring. Thanks to a distraction, Omega hits a running stomp through a table. Back in the ring, Omega grounds Cage and firmly controls the match. Omega sends Cage crashing to the floor and continues to dominate the bout. He drops Cage with a neckbreaker, but the reigning IMPACT World Champion rallies. The champions trade blows, and Cage gains momentum with some punches in the corner.

Cage gets a two count with an inverted DDT, but Omega fires back with a knee to the hed. A swinging DDT earns Cage another two count. Omega drills Cage with some vicious V-triggers and plants him with a nasty suplex. The battle spills out onto the apron, and Cage dodges the One-Winged Angel, just as Omega dodges the Killswitch. Cage throws himself at Omega, and both men crash through the table with a Spear. With two more Spears, Cage earns a two count. Omega blocks a frog splash. Two more nasty V-triggers rock Cage, but he catches a third. Omega still hits two more and drops Cage. The challenger locks in a high-angle Cloverleaf, and Callis calls for the Good Brothers. They run to the ring and attack Cage while Callis distracts the referee. Cage causes Omega to accidentally hit Anderson with a V-trigger, and “Captain Charisma”, bleeding from the mouth, hits a Killswitch for a near fall.

Callis gets in the ring, and Cage chases him out. Omega capitalizes on the distraction by countering a super Killswitch and flooring Cage with a falling One-Winged Angel for the win.

Winner and still AEW World Champion: Kenny Omega

Omega celebrates with Callis, the Good Brothers and the Young Bucks, who limp to the ring, after the match. The Elite beat down Cage after the match, and Jurassic Express try to make the save. The numbers are in The Elite’s favor, so the heels continue to beat down the fan-favorites. Omega grabs a microphone and asks the fans if they understand. He says he doesn’t care about hometown heroes; nobody is on his level. Omega brags that nobody can beat him.

The lights go out, and Adam Cole makes his arrival. The crowd deafeningly cheers “Adam Cole Bay Bay.” But Cole superkicks Jungle Boy after a brief staredown with Omega. Cole embraces the Young Bucks, who kiss him on the cheeks. Omega laughs off the teased confrontation, and Cole says it’s “storytime.” He states that The Elite is the most dominant faction in wrestling history. He says nobody will stop them, and Omega then says “Goodbye and goodnight.” But “Flight of the Valkyries hits”, and the crowd loses it when Bryan Danielson comes to the ring.

He stands with the babyfaces and brawls with The Elite. Resounding “Yes” chants fill the arena while Bryan kicks the Bucks and drops Nick Jackson wth his signature Knee.

Bryan stands tall with Cage and Jurassic Express to close the show.
