Drew McIntyre: Team SmackDown Will ‘Coexist’ Better Than Team RAW At WWE Survivor Series

Drew McIntyre is confident that Team SmackDown will defeat Team RAW at WWE Survivor Series.

In an interview with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, “The Scottish Warrior” expressed his belief that the group of stars that will represent the blue brand will be able to “coexist” on November 21. On the other hand, he noted that he’s feuded with Happy Corbin in the past; additionally, King Woods and McIntyre both want to be the team captain, so there are multiple sources of potential tension. Still, he believes that Team SmackDown will put aside their differences for the sake of the match.

“Can we coexist? We will have an easier time than our opponents,” said McIntyre. “With Corbin, we’re not always on the same page. We’ve been part of teams before. Jeff Hardy, I’ve tagged with him across Europe. King Woods I might have to play well with him because he doesn’t like the idea of me being team captain. I think we’ll compromise because the king doesn’t ride into battle first. Maybe I’m the knight that rides into battle first….I feel good about our team.”

The lack of stakes in the brand vs. brand matches at WWE Survivor Series has been a point of criticism in recent weeks. When asked about this narrative, the former WWE Champion focused on the importance of this bout; the winner(s) will have a chance to gain some significant momentum. For McIntyre, this contest is a chance to pick up a major victory and potentially take a step toward challenging WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

“The way I look at it is a match featuring 10 of the top superstars in WWE,” said McIntyre. “Who is going to survive? They will build serious momentum on the brand. I’ve talked about not fighting Roman right now because I want to build momentum. That means I have to keep racking up the wins. What could be bigger to Drew McIntyre than to be a survivor? It’s all about those big moments.”

Fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see whether McIntyre and Team SmackDown will emerge victorious, as the battle for brand supremacy will unfold at WWE Survivor Series on November 21.
