The Undertaker On Filming With The New Day: Those Guys Bring So Much Creativity, They’re Ideal For The Project

The Undertaker and the New Day are certainly an interesting combination of characters, but it seemed to be a match made in heaven.

WWE legend The Undertaker recently appeared on ‘The Bump’ and ‘The Deadman’ touted the creativity and energy of Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, making them the perfect guys for the job to star in the ‘Escape The Undertaker’ Netflix interactive film, which released this past October.

“That was a really ambitious shooting schedule because New Day had their commitments for their house shows and TV and everything, so we shot that in a week. It was really long days but those guys are awesome, they’re so creative and even in situations like that, they bring so much energy and creativity. It was really fun, I think that they were the ideal guests to do that but it was fun being able to have that kind of a project with those guys and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

“It was funny, I was doing a Zoom interview and my daughter was in her room and she was actually playing the game, so I’m trying to conduct this interview and I can hear her talking trash like ‘no, don’t do that, don’t go that way!’ So, it’s been a lot of fun, we’ve [family] all played it together and of course, my daughter was telling me not to go that way or this way. After all these years, it’s interesting, I’ve never even heard of an interactive movie and when they told me and explained the concept, I thought it was really cool. So, this whole new era of people, hopefully, get exposed to The Undertaker and go back and figure out who he is and then catch back up and hopefully, we can continue with a few more years of entertainment.”

Escape The Undertaker director Ben Simms recently spoke about how he’d like to explore adding more lore to The Undertaker character in a potential sequel; read more about how he’d handle a new project at this link.
