WWE Legend ‘Blackjack’ Jack Lanza Passes Away, Vince McMahon And Jim Ross Comment

Legendary announcer Jim Ross and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon have both shared the news that “Blackjack” Jack Lanza has passed away at the age of 86.

Lanza is a WWE Hall of Famer, and as a member of The Blackjacks, he won the WWWF World Tag Team Championship with Blackjack Mulligan. He debuted in 1961 and kept wrestling around the United States for promotions like American Wrestling Association, Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Association, among others, until he retired in 1985.

Following the end of his in-ring career, Lanza transitioned to a backstage role for many years. In Ross’ comment about Lanza’s passing, he noted that the legend was WWE’s lead agent during the Attitud Era, a time when the company reached new heights.

Other noteworthy names in the wrestling world also reacted to the news; former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas called Lanza “a true legend,” and Sean Waltman stated that he “loved” the WWE Hall of Famer.
