Impact Wrestling Viewership And Demo Rating Decrease On 12/16

The latest television rating numbers are in, and the viewership for IMPACT Wrestling‘s on December 16 is significantly down.

According to the latest batch of numbers from Nielen (via Showbuzz Daily), IMPACT’s latest taped episode, which aired last week on December 16, drew 71,000 total viewers, which is down a whopping 21.11% from the previous week’s 90,000 viewers.

The viewership number on December 16 is the show’s third-lowest figure in the history of IMPACT Wrestling’s run on AXS, dating back to December 2019. The Thanksgiving 2021 episode (48,000 viewers) remains the all-time low.

The episode drew a 0.02 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic, which is down from 0.003 last week. After the show didn’t make the Cable Top 150 chart for nine straight weeks, two weeks ago saw the company jump into the top 150. Unfortunately, they’re back out of the rankings now after a poor showing.

It’s unclear exactly what the cause of the drop was, but it could likely be the massive competition of professional football. IMPACT Wrestling went head-to-head with NFL’s Thursday Night Football game last week, which was a very exciting matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers. For their show next week, the company will likely be hoping for much better numbers, especially as we head into the new year.
