Pro Wrestling Tees Data Breach Took Place In April, Affected 31,000 Customers

In a new update to the Pro Wrestling Tees security breach that recently surprised its customers, an updated number of affected users and a timeframe has been revealed.

According to a recent update from the Office of the Maine Attorney General, 31,000 people were affected by the data breach. Furthermore, the date of the breach was also noted as having been on April 1, 2021. Pro Wrestling Tees was not aware of the breach itself until November 1, 2021, as part of its investigation and cooperation with law enforcement, and began sending notification about the breach to its customers on December 15.

The report notes that, alongside names and other “personal identifiers” acquired in the breach, things like “Financial Account Number or Credit/Debit Card Number (in combination with security code, access code, password or PIN for the account)” were all potentially found within the breach.

Earlier this week, Pro Wrestling Tees confirmed that once the investigation was complete, the company said it made a list of users who were affected by the breach, and then handed that list off to a data breach notification company, which would then send out letters to inform the users. According to a report from Fightful on the issue, Pro Wrestling Tees was the only store affected by the breach, with popular sites like ShopAEW, Global ShopAEW, All Elite Crate, and Pro Wrestling Crate remaining safe from any intrusions.

The company’s initial statement (seen below) has outlined what steps are being taken to rectify the situation and claim that while no personal information was misused, some credit card numbers were vulnerable.

What Happened
