Sami Callihan Returning ‘Sooner Rather Than Later,’ Recently Got Screws Removed From His Ankle

Sami Callihan says he’ll be back when fans least expect it.

Sami Callihan appeared on Busted Open Radio and spoke about his recovery from ankle surgery, which has kept him sidelined since September. F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer first reported that Callihan suffered a broken ankle during IMPACT’s September television tapings and would likely be out until spring of 2022.

“I think everyone misses me on IMPACT Wrestling. I got my screws out on December 23, I started taking my first steps a few days ago and the Callihan Death Machine is starting to lose weight. I’m starting to get stronger each and every day because I sat around for three months eating Chipotle every day becoming a fat slug, but now that’s over. New year, new Callihan, and now I get a chance to completely rebuild. When I come back to IMPACT Wrestling, there’s going to be hell to pay for a lot of people. I’ll go ahead and I don’t even know if I could say this on Sirius, but I really don’t give a damn — fuck you Moose. I don’t care if you’re the champion, I don’t care if you’re just being a dude on IMPACT Wrestling — when I come back to IMPACT Wrestling, I’m going to break your damn legs.”

Asked if he has any idea when he will be back, Callihan said it’s one of those situations where he’s playing it close to his chest.

“It is one of those things with people not knowing where or when I’m going to come back, it’s something that I could truly use to my advantage. I’m a sucker for surprises. When I come back, it’s going to be the time where you least expect it. But it’s going to be sooner rather than later, because originally with this injury, I thought I was going to be out until next August, next September, but it’s not going to be that [long].”

Sami Callihan spoke about it being hard to think about missing Hard To Kill in January, but he’s coming back with a vengeance and he’s working to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Callihan said he built a gym at his home and he’s coming back meaner and nastier than ever.
