Reported Plans For Brock Lesnar’s Next Feud After WWE Day 1

Brock Lesnar won the WWE Championship at WWE Day 1 to kick off 2022 with a shocking title change. In the aftermath of his triumph, many fans are curious about how WWE plans to proceed with the new champion.

According to F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer, the company intends to have Lesnar feud with Bobby Lashley following WWE Day 1. Per Meltzer, this direction was the plan as of Saturday night, and it played a part in the way the five-way championship bout was booked. Many fans picked up on the post-match angle, in which Lashley stared Lesnar down while “The Beast Incarnate” celebrated his victory. The two men briefly clashed during the match itself, but Lesnar didn’t F5 Lashley, let alone pin him, on Saturday.

Meltzer also notes that WWE still has plans for the rivalry between Lesnar and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns; they were scheduled to face off at WWE Day 1, but Reigns tested positive for COVID-19 just a few short hours before the show. As a result, Reigns was pulled from the card, Lesnar entered the WWE Championship Match and subsequently won the title.

A potential bout between Lashley and Lesnar is widely viewed as a dream match, given the way both powerhouses have thrived in wrestling and MMA. Lashley has expressed his interest in facing Lesnar since he returned to WWE in 2018. At one point, the match seemed like it would be impossible, as Lesnar left the company last fall when his contract expired. But “The Beast Incarnate” re-signed with WWE and returned at the SummerSlam 2021 event.
