Matt Cardona is seemingly the new ECW World Television Champion.
At GCW Most Notorious, Cardona faced ECW legend Rhino in a singles match in the latter’s hometown of Detroit. Prior to the match, in several social media posts, Cardona noted that Rhino was the final ECW World Television Champion, but he planned to change this fact by winning their match. In the end, that’s exactly what he did. During their chaotic bout, Cardona brought out a sack containing what was announced as the ECW World Television Championship and hit Rhino with it to “win” the title. The ring announcer reluctantly announced Cardona as the new champion after the bell rang.

The championship had been defunct since ECW closed in 2001, and WWE acquired its assets in 2003.
