GCW Welcome To Heartbreak Results (2/25/22): Matt Cardona, X-Pac And More

“Speedball” Mike Bailey vs. Ninja Mack

Bailey and Mack respectfully bow to each other before they trade fast-paced strike attempts. This contest is another stalemate early on. Mack takes Bailey to the mat, and both men wind up on their feet outside the ring after a clothesline. In the crowd, “Speedball” drops Mack with a kick. Mack takes control and sends Bailey crashing into a wall. Back inside the ring, Bailey locks in a half-crab and takes control with a series of kicks. Both men come up on running shooting star presses. Mack kicks Bailey and hits a standing corkscrew splash.

Bailey dives onto Mack outside the ring. Mack climbs up onto a balcony and dares Bailey to join him.”Speedball” accepts the challenge, and the two men wage war above the crowd. A kick sends Mack tumbling down to the floor, and he crashes through a door. Baily blasts Mack with a kick to the head for a two count. Mack rallies with a flurry of strikes, but Bailey blocks a corkscrew splash. “Speedball” slams Mack to the mat for the win.

GCW Extreme Championship: AJ Gray (c) vs. ACH

Gray and ACH exchange some holds and submission attempts early on. ACH sends Gray to the outside with a dropkick. The champion kicks ACH in the face and sends him crashing into the ring post. Gray and ACH trade stiff blows outside the ring. ACH suplexes Gray onto the floor. The champion floors ACH with another kick to the face. ACH gets a two count with a dead-lift German suplex. A Chokeslam and a powerbomb earn Gray a two count. Both men trade blows, and ACH earns a two count with a frog splash.

Gray drills ACH with a chop to the chest. ACH blasts Gray with some chops of his own. A dive to the outside leaves both men down. Gray dodges a frog splash and trucks over ACH with a lariat.

ACH slams ACH to the mat for the win.

Winner and still GCW Extreme Champion: AJ Gray

After the match, Gray gives ACH credit. He then says he’s been the guy GCW can call on for a few years now. Gray brings up the fact that he won the Brass Ring ladder match and says he gets any match he wants at Joey Janela’s Spring Break. He calls out GCW World Champion Jon Moxley by telling him he’ll see the champion at Spring Break.

Dr. Wagner vs. Homicide

Wagner and Homicide lock up, and an exchange of middle fingers makes it clear that the two men don’t respect each other. Homicide taunts Wagner, and they lock up again. Wagner hits a stiff dropkick for a two count and sends Homicide to the outside. The fight spills into the crowd, and the competitors wind up by the stage. Wagner hits Homicide with a crutch. Wagner drills Homicide with some kicks and hits a chair he placed between his opponent’s legs with another chair. With a surfboard stretch, Wagner continues to stretch Homicide. The later rallies with a suplex and a dive to the outside.

Wagner sends Homicide head-first into a chair and slams him for the win.

Winner: Dr. Wagner

After a lengthy promo, a translator deliver Wagner’s message that he wants another match with Psycho Clown, but it wouldn’t just be a singles bout; he’s willing to put his hair on the line in a Hair vs. Mask match against Psycho Clown.

Team Reefer (Grim Reefer, Jimmy Lloyd, Jordan Oliver, and Jack Cartwheel) vs. Second Gear and Friends (Matthew Justice, Dark Sheik, Allie Katch, and Gringo Loco)

Sheik and Oliver start the bout and exchange counters. A diving DDT to the outside plants Oliver headfirst onto a chair. Katch and Lloyd enter the bout, and the latter hits a senton. Justice drops Reefer with a big boot. Cartwheel faces off with Loco and trade some fast-paced maneuvers. Cartwheel lives up to his name and flies around the ring before he dives onto several opponents at ringside. Reefer lights up and starts smoking before he gets high with a dive of his own. He slams Sheik into the corner. Justice enjoys some puffs from Reefer’s blunt and blasts him with a clothesline. He floors Reefer with a hip toss onto some chairs.

Oliver and Katch lock Sheik and Cartwheel into submissions. Katch turns Oliver inside-out with a clothesline. Justice nails Lloyd with a door after he piledrivers Sheik. Justice and Loco both dive onto Lloyd.

Justice brutally spears Justice through a door. Katch plants Lloyd with a piledriver. Loco ultimately pins Cartwheel with a twisting powerbomb.

WinnersSecond Gear and Friends (Matthew Justice, Dark Sheik, Allie Katch, and Gringo Loco)

Chris Dickinson comes to the ring and discusses his recovery from his leg injury. He notes that doctors told him he could be out for a year, but he’ll make his return five months to the day of his injury. He states that he has unfinished business with GCW, specifically with Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport. He points to Barnett in the crowd and tells him to set up a rematch with Suzuki for Bloodsport.

The Major Players (Matt Cardona and Brian Myers) (with Chelsea Green) vs. Joey Janela and X-Pac

Before the bout, Myers and Cardona cut a promo. Myers calls them “legitimate superstars.” Myers mocks Dickinson, who’s still in the ring. Cardona introduces himself to Dickinson and says he put GCW on the map. He says he doesn’t know who Dickinson is, and “The Dirty Daddy” gets in the champion’s face. Dickinson calls the trio “catering garbage” and says they wouldn’t be relevant without GCW. He tells Cardona that if he wants to prove himself and stop playing with toys, he should face him at Joey Janela’s Spring Break. In response, Cardona says he’ll do some more “charity work” by putting Dickinson on the map.

Once the bell rings, Janela and Cardona begin the bout, but the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion immediately tags Myers in. Janela takes control and sends Cardona to the outside with a back body drop when he tries to interfere. Cardona wants X-Pac to tag in, and he does. They face off , and X-Pac does a crotch chop. Myers saves Cardona from a Bronco Buster, but X-Pac dives onto the duo at ringside. Janela makes the tag and maintains the advantage. A distraction from Myers helps Cardona drop X-Pac from behind.

The Major Players isolate X-Pac and ground him. Green chokes X-Pac, and Cardona does a crotch chop to mock him. Janela comes in with a hot tag. Green grabs Janela’s ankle, but he overcomes her interference. Cardona enters the ring, but the referee stops him; with the official preoccupied, Green drops Janela with a destroyer. The Major Players gang up on Janela for a few minutes. “The Bad Boy” rallies with a sunset flip powerbomb to Myers. Cardona and X-Pac tag in. The WWE Hall of Famer drops Myers with a heel kick and plants Cardona with a powerbomb. X-Pac hits Cardona with a Bronco Buster, but Myers reverses when the legend attempts one on him.

Janela takes Myers and Waltman down with a double kick. All four men are fighting in the ring, and everyone is down after a flurry of offense. “The Bad Boy” gets a door and sets it up at ringside. Cardona takes the door and brings it into the ring. But Janela dodges Cardona’s Radio Silence, forcing him to send Myers through a door. Janela sends Cardona crashing through a door at ringside, X-Pac hits the X-Factor, and Janela hits an elbow drop for a near fall. Myers tags in, and Cardona hits both of his opponents with a chair. X-Pac rallies and hits an X-Factor through the door on Myers for the win.

Winners: X-Pac and Joey Janela

X-Pac cuts a promo after the match; he thanks the fans and GCW. He cuts an emotional promo and says that if this is his final match, he couldn’t think of a better way to go out. X-Pac notes that he used to be in a tag team with Janela before “The Bad Boy” blindsided him with an attack to close the show.
