Dexter Lumis Released By WWE

WWE released Dexter Lumis among 10 other individuals on April 29.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported the news.

Lumis signed with WWE in February 2019. He debuted in July as a participant in the Breakout Tournament and later returned to TV on the April 1, 2020, episode of NXT. He had a lengthy feud with Cameron Grimes, and he was involved in a long-running storyline with Index that culminated in their marriage on the September 14, 2021, episode.

In recent weeks, he has been feuding with Duke Hudson as InDex competed with Hudson and Persia Pirotta over which duo was the better couple. Lumis and Hudson briefly formed a team before Dexter’s release. In Lumis’ last match, he and Hudson unsuccessfully challenged Pretty Deadly for the NXT Tag Team Championship on the April 19 episode of NXT 2.0.

Before Lumis’ last match, he worked for TNA/IMPACT Wrestling for several years. He won TNA Gut Check and spent a while in OVW before he had a memorable run as Samuel Shaw. He later left the company in 2015 and returned to the independent scene.
