Joey Janela States Sonny Kiss Made Him A Better Person

Joey Janela is officially done with AEW as a contracted wrestler, but many colleagues appreciate what “The Bad Boy” did for the promotion during his tenure. Janela took to social media on 5/1 to state that his deal with All Elite Wrestling expired and took some playful jabs at wrestling fans while doing so.

“A lot of unhealthy looking 48 year old men are happy my contract is up today, in 10 years I won’t have to worry about them trashing me on Twitter because most of them will be dead of diabetes,” Janela Tweeted, before making an addendum in the replies: “*3 years.”

Janela was one of the original talents signed to a contract when AEW kicked off in 2019 and had time both as a babyface and a heel. He and fellow New Jerseyian formed a rag tag tag team known as “Bad Romance” and Sonny made sure to let the world know how much “The Bad Boy” meant to their run.

“Joey constantly pushed me to be great,” Kiss stated. “Our rivalry. Our partnership. Our genuine friendship. He always strived to be the best & entertain. I am forever grateful that AEW paired us because I’ve grown so much! I’ll always support u wherever! Love you, Joseph!”

Joey responded in kind noting how much the duo’s relationship meant to him.

“One of the best! Our team was a unbelievable challenge in a no crowd pandemic! The matches between us were big time quality! Sonny Kiss made me a better person, & it was extremely satisfying to see the unbelievable advancements of this once in a lifetime talent!”

Janela has plenty lined up as far as Game Changer Wrestling goes after just getting a victory over Masha Slamovich at their 5/1 show, Life Goes On. You can read the full results courtesy of WrestleZone’s Colin Tessier below.
