Out In The Ring Documentary World Premiere Set For Toronto’s 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival

The Out in the Ring documentary will premiere at Toronto’s 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival next month.

This morning the official Out in the Ring Twitter account posted the exciting announcement that their documentary will premiere at Toronto’s 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival on June 3:

“It’s live! The Official World Premiere of OUT IN THE RING will take place on Fri. June 3rd at 4:45 p.m. at Toronto’s 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival. The description of the documentary reads:

Out in the Ring explores the rise and history of LGBTQ+ professional wrestlers and representation in the sport. Featuring appearances from legends of the past, veteran journeymen, rising and current independent stars and important wrestling experts, Out in the Ring is the first documentary to take a deeper look at queer representation in wrestling. Through a combination of these interviews and incredible archival footage, this ground-breaking film looks at the effects of homophobia, racism, and gender identity on wrestling stars of the past and present, and looks ahead to the future of queer and trans stars in the sport. The directorial feature debut of Ryan Bruce Levey uncovers the unique history of the industry and the rise of visibility for performers and fans around the world.
