Trent Beretta Tests Positive For COVID-19, Pulled From NJPW Capital Collision

Trent Beretta has been pulled from the card for NJPW Capital Collision.

In a tweet on May 13, NJPW announced that Beretta has tested positive for COVID-19, so he’ll be unable to compete at the show on Saturday. As a result, Rocky Romero will replace him as Kazuchika Okada’s tag team partner. The DKC will take Romero’s place in the ten-man tag team bout against Team Filthy.

The announcement, courtesy of NJPW’s website, is as follows:

Trent Beretta, who was scheduled to team with Kazuchika Okada against Jay White and Hikuleo at Capital Collision, has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be able to compete on the card May 14.

We deeply apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Beretta wrestle, and appreciate your understanding.

As a result the following changes have been made to the evening’s card:

Beretta subsequently commented on the news by saying sorry and noting that while he has “betrayed New Japan all over again”, he feels fine now.
