Thunder Rosa Calls Serena Deeb The Perfect Opponent; Predicts An Intense, Technical Match At Double Or Nothing

Thunder Rosa is prepared to go to war with Serena Deeb this Sunday at AEW Double or Nothing.

Ahead of tonight’s episode of Dynamite, AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa was a guest on the Battleground Podcast to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about facing Serena Deeb this Sunday at AEW Double or Nothing, Rosa called her the perfect opponent.

“She’s a perfect opponent. She has all the experience, she knows what she’s doing,” Thunder Rosa said. “She’s that type of person that actually takes the time as a professor to study her students and other people that she’s facing. I am just really excited. I’ve been feeling a little violent. I feel like I have restraint on me. Sunday, all this anger and all this pent-up frustration is gonna be let out in a very technical match, but it’s gonna be very intense. Every time we have stepped in the ring together, we’ve created magic. From the first time that we were both in the ring in AEW; that’s a statement that we both made. I know what we’re capable of.”

Thunder Rosa and Serena Deeb have had quite the history over the last couple of years, and Rosa knows deep down that Deeb has what it takes to potentially take her title from her on Sunday at Double or Nothing.

“I think so. I think she has a humongous chip on her shoulder,” Thunder Rosa said. “I mean when was the last time, besides NWA, that she’s been a champion in a major company? I mean she’s been wrestling for 17 years. I mean, if I was her, I would be in the same position. Because you see me, right, and I’ve always been seen as an outsider. And even now, people are like well you know, Thunder Rosa this, Thunder Rosa that. They still see me as an outsider, some people still question me as a champion.

“So she’s like oh Thunder Rosa, she can say whatever she wants, but I’ve been wrestling for 17 years. I’ve been doing this, I ate all this crap and I deserve respect. Just as much as she deserves respect, I deserve respect. I have worked my ass off for the last eight years. From bottom to top. And now that I’m on top, I’m working even harder to stay on top and to show everybody why am I the face of AEW. And they can question it all they want. But when it comes down to me getting in the ring, that already know, I put my face paint on, and it’s a wrap, baby. It’s a freaking wrap. And were doing it in the fighting capital of the world, Las Vegas. No place better.”
