Jay White Not Interested In A Title Match At Forbidden Door: ‘I’ve Already Proven Myself’

Jay White doesn’t want to put the gold on the line at Forbidden Door because he believes he’s already proven himself as a champion.

In an interview with Tokyo Sports, IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White stated that he’s not interested in defending his newly-won title at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. He also stated that he’s not interested in facing anyone from AEW because he’s already proven that he’s the best in the world.

“The title match is not something I’m particularly interested in. I can do it if they (AEW) really want it, but my job is to sell out the tournament tickets. It’s like having done it. All I have to do now is to participate in the tournament as a champion. “‘

“What I’ve done for New Japan in the US is more beneficial to the company than any player has done. I’m not really interested in who in AEW I want to fight. I’m the strongest player in the world. It’s already been proven, and I’m at a level where other players want to play. I’m not interested in the so-called dream match.”

White also said he’s not looking for a “dream match” at the event either; read more about why he feels like talent should be fighting for a match with him at this link.
