Report: Josh Woods Currently Has A Tiered Deal With AEW

Josh Woods made his AEW Dynamite debut on the “Fight for the Fallen” special, and he’s reportedly here to stay.

Woods, a former ROH Pure Champion, has competed on multiple tapings of AEW Dark, dating back to December 2021. He also competed at ROH Supercard of Honor, the company’s first pay-per-view after Tony Khan bought it. Though he didn’t have a match, he was also at ROH Death Before Dishonor; he was one of the judges for the ROH Pure Championship match between Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia. On Wednesday night, Woods attacked Keith Lee, one-half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions, and seemingly aligned with Tony Nese.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Woods has been working on a tiered deal with AEW for the last month or so. Ross Sapp noted that Woods was at the July 20th episode of AEW Dynamite, but he didn’t appear on the show. The report also notes that some of the talent who competed at ROH Death Before Dishonor are still free agents as they aren’t signed to AEW/ROH.
