CM Punk Returns On 8/10 AEW Dynamite, Confronts Jon Moxley

CM Punk is back.

In the main event of the August 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, Jon Moxley defended the AEW Interim World Championship against Chris Jericho. The bout turned into a bloodbath, and in the end, Moxley made Jericho, a former champion, tap out to a sleeper hold.

After the bell, the Jericho Appreciation Society attacked Moxley, and even when the Blackpool Combat Club made the save, the numbers advantage overwhelmed “The Purveyor of Violence.” Just as Jericho was about to blast Moxley with the title, Punk’s music hit. The reigning AEW World Champion charged to the ring, seemingly showing that his injured foot has heeled, and cleared the ring of Jericho and his cronies. He then confronted Moxley, who flipped him off.

Punk won the AEW World Championship at AEW Double or Nothing, but he has been sidelined since the June 3 episode of AEW Rampage, when he announced that he’d need surgery. Moxley then won the interim title at AEW Forbidden Door by defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi.
