Rhea Ripley Hates Certain Stereotype About Her Appearance, Proud She Can Inspire Others

Rhea Ripley has confidently transformed herself into a “weapon of mass destruction.”

The former RAW Women’s Champion first arrived on the WWE scene during the inaugural Mae Young Classic event. There, she sported long blonde hair and a babyface smile, touting her success in soccer and on the Australian independent wrestling scene. Ripley then gradually morphed into “The Nightmare”, clad in a spiked leather jacket, shorter hair, and a cutting-edge attitude.

During a chat with Fox Sports Australia, Rhea Ripley responded to ongoing criticism that her looks were ‘too masculine’ or that she should grow her hair out.

“The whole thing is women should have long hair. I hate that stereotype,” Ripley proclaimed. “I hate when men say grow your hair out. No. This is my body, this is my choice. I do whatever the hell I want with my body and you can’t tell me what to do because I love myself, I don’t really care if you don’t love me.”

Despite the occasional criticism, Ripley continues to embrace herself and use her platform to inspire others.

“That’s so strong,” Ripley explained. “I love when I get tagged in photos of women and they’ve cut their hair in the same way because [I gave them that confidence]. That’s just insane to me. I’m really proud and happy to be on this platform where I can help people as well.

“I get messages, tweets, posts that I’m tagged in all the time about people and their confidence growing because they’ve seen me,” Ripley added. “[It’s] absolutely insane.”

Ripley’s metamorphosis serves as a constant reminder of the time and effort she puts into her appearance. Rhea turned her body into “this weapon of mass destruction” but also hopes proved people should embrace their own skin. If people can remain “happy within themselves and surround themselves with the right people, I think that’s really special,” Ripley shared.
