Report: Next NXT Premium Live Event Scheduled For December 10, Same Day As ROH Final Battle

NXT Halloween Havoc is on the horizon, but WWE is already planning the brand’s next premium live event.

According to a new report from Fightful (via Fightful Select), WWE informed NXT talent that the brand’s next premium live event is internally scheduled for December 10. It was rumored that the name of the event could be linked to the “NXT Deadline” trademark that was recently filed, but talent was told to keep the date open.

December 10th is notable because it’s also the same day as ROH Final Battle, which is confirmed as taking place in Arlington, Texas. AEW announced the ROH Final Battle pay-per-view would start at 3 pm CST, citing NCAA football’s 2022 Heisman Trophy ceremony and UFC 282 – Prochazka vs. Teixeira 2 as reasons for the early start.

It’s speculated that WWE would still likely run its NXT event at night and it would not conflict with the ROH show. As of now, Fightful reports that the NXT PLE will emanate from the WWE Performance Center and it could be publicly announced as soon as Saturday’s Halloween Havoc event.

Earlier in the week, Tony Khan spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated about ROH’s future. In addition to teasing the ROH pay-per-view, Khan said he hoped to have a weekly ROH series in the new year.

“We’ll have great news soon about Ring of Honor weekly shows,” Khan said. “The success of Death Before Dishonor on pay-per-view has ensured there will be more Ring of Honor pay-per-views. Our goal is to have one more great pay-per-view for Ring of Honor in 2022 and then follow that up with a weekly show in 2023.”

Khan also discussed the decision to re-sign Chris Jericho and emphasized that he’s one of the biggest stars in wrestling. Read more about Jericho’s status here.
