Former NXT UK Star Trent Seven Makes AEW Debut On 12/9 AEW Rampage

Orange Cassidy remains the self-proclaimed “king of the Atlantic Ocean”, despite an impressive effort from Trent Seven.

On the December 7 episode of AEW Rampage, Cassidy defended the AEW All-Atlantic Championship against Seven, the man Kip Sabian picked to challenge Cassidy for the gold. Cassidy got by with a little help from his (best) friends, as Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta negated the presence of The Butcher and The Blade when they tried to interfere. With a level playing field, Cassidy pinned Seven with an Orange Punch and a Beach Break.

Right when the bell rang, Sabian and Seven ganged up on Cassidy, but “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes came to the ring to make the save, much to the delight of the crowd in the veteran’s hometown of Austin, Texas.

Seven worked for WWE for several years; he signed with the company after the tournament for the WWE United Kingdom Championship in 2017. He competed on both NXT and NXT UK throughout his time with the company. He and Tyler Bate collectively known as Mustache Mountain, captured both the NXT Tag Team Championship and the NXT UK Tag Team Championship. WWE later released Seven and many other NXT UK talents in August 2022 after the company announced the looming launch of NXT Europe and the consequent hiatus for NXT UK.
