Maria Kanellis Wants A Bigger TV Deal For Women’s Wrestling Army

Maria Kanellis believes Women’s Wrestling Army is ready to level up.

Founded in April 2022, Women’s Wrestling Army (WWA) has steadily grown its product and audience. As the company gained traction, it coordinated with Pro Wrestling TV to stream episodes on that platform. According to Kanellis, their viewership has doubled in the last couple of months, but she wants to expand their brand even more.

“I want to get a bigger TV deal,” she told WrestlingNewsCo’s Steve Fall when asked what she sees for the company in the future.  “I want to get more eyes on the product, of course, I think that would be the biggest thing eventually. We want to work on our set and work on the display of things, I guess you would say. But right now, every single taping has gotten better and better, has gotten more production quality. We’ve gotten more people behind the scenes. We now have Mark Brown, who was the director for Ring of Honor. He’s now directing our shows. So, every single time we’re trying to up our game in that way.”

Since their inception last spring, WWA has also expanded the variety of talent featured on its programming. Former IMPACT Knockouts Champion Tasha Steelz remains a regular in the series, while “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo racked up a couple of appearances as well. Former NWA Women’s Tag Team Champions Allysin Kay and Marti Belle also took part in tapings. Some top free agents made their mark as well, including KiLynn King, Trish Adora, Taya Valkyrie, and LuFisto.
