Report: AEW Wanted Vikingo For 3/1 AEW Dynamite

Komander made his AEW debut on the March 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, but company CEO Tony Khan reportedly wanted El Hijo del Vikingo for the spot.

On Wednesday, Komander, a standout performer on the independent scene who has wrestled for GCW and AAA in recent months, competed in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match. He generated some buzz with his high-flying offense throughout the match.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that AEW had their sights set on El Hijo Del Vikingo for the match, but he wasn’t available. As a result, Komander, who was not under AEW contract on Wednesday, got the spot. Komander is currently signed with KAOZ, and Meltzer noted that he is “very much” on WWE’s radar. However, per Meltzer, Komander would be unable to sign with WWE or AEW without KAOZ’s approval.

Vikingo is the reigning AAA Mega Champion. He has been competing at Warrior Wrestling Shows, and he has also competed for GCW, in addition to his work with AAA.
