Tony Khan Praises Kenny Omega, Hopes He’s In AEW For A Very Long Time

Tony Khan says he hopes hopes Kenny Omega is a member of the AEW roster for a long time to come.

Omega, one of the founding EVPs of All Elite Wrestling, has practically done it all with the company; he has won the AEW World Championship, the Tag Team Championship, and thee Trios Championship. He missed several months after he lost the world title at AEW Full Gear 2021 as he recovered from a number of injuries and medical procedures. Omega returned ahead of AEW All Out 2022 but was subsequently suspended for his role in the brawl between CM Punk and The Elite. Omega and The Young Bucks then returned at AEW Full Gear 2022.

In recent weeks, fans have been speculating about Omega’s future, as AEW has reportedly added injury time to his contract, which is set to expire this year.

At the AEW Revolution post-show media scrum, Khan was asked to comment on Omega’s contract status. He responded by praising the former champion and expressing his hope that he’ll be with AEW for the foreseeable future.

“I think Kenny Omega’s one of the best wrestlers in AEW history,” Khan said. “He’s one of the most decorated wrestlers. To have somebody who’s been World Trios Champion and had a great match defending that title tonight, World Tag Team Champion, and the World Champion, he’s fine everything you can do as a world champion in this company. Also, [he is] the IWGP US Champion. This year alone, he’s had some of the matches in the world. I thought it was an excellent match on the pay-per-view tonight. He started the year with a great match in Tokyo versus Will Ospreay at Wrestle Kingdom, and Kenny Omega can do anything he sets his mind to. He’s one of the heat stars in the world, and I hope he’s here for a very long time.”

At AEW Revolution, Omega and the Young Bucks lost the AEW World Trios Championship to the House of Black.
