FTR have recaptured AEW gold, as they took down The Gunns on the April 5 episode of AEW Dynamite to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
In a match that was billed as a “AEW World Tag Team Championships vs. AEW Careers” bout, FTR found a way to overcome some late adversity to walk away with the win. Late in the match, The Gunns attempted to use their titles as weapons, but were stopped by the referee, but not before Dax Harwood accidentally headbutted it going for a hit on the champs.
However, Harwood kicked out of a pin, and after some back and forth, Harwood blocked the 3:10 to Yuma and FTR quickly rolled up both members of the group for the pin and win.
The win gives FTR their second run with the titles, as they first won the gold at AEW All Out in 2020; their reign that would last 63 days before they lost the belts to The Young Bucks at Full Gear.
FTR’s AEW contracts were se to expire in April, and Dax Harwood recently stated that while the duo made a decision about their futures, fans would have to wait and see what it is.

Wheeler and Colten start the bout and feel each other out. The Gunns isolate Wheeler and keep him grounded. Harwood eventually tags in and takes control. He takes the fight to The Gunns. Austin goes for the Sharpshooter, but Harwood escapes. FTR hits a Stump Piledriver. FTR blocks the 3:10 to Yuma and hits the Big Rig, but Colten pulls the referee out of the ring at the last second. Austin hits Dax with the Fameasser for a two count. Austin goes for a Pedigree, but Harwood counters and gets a two count with a backslide.
He cradles Austin for a two count. Austin hits Harwood below the belt, and the referee goes to call for the bell, but Wheeler stops him. The Gunns hit Wheeler with the 3:10 to Yuma. Harwood rallies. The referee stops the Gunns from using one title, but they get another into the ring behind his back. Harwood goes for a headbutt, and he lands on the title belt. Harwood still kicks out. Harwood spit at the Gunns, and they go for the 3:10 to Yuma. Harwood blocks it, and FTR rolls up both members of The Gunns for the win.
