Wardlow Wins TNT Title On 4/19 AEW Dynamite

Wardlow had a Horseman in his corner when he regained the TNT Championship.

On the April 19 episode of AEW Dynamite, Wardlow challenged TNT Champion Powerhouse Hobbs for the title. Before the bout, Wardlow discussed the match in an interview and revealed that he struck an alliance with Arn Anderson, who hadn’t appeared on AEW TV in quite some time.

Anderson wound up playing a part in the outcome of the match. Hobbs and Wardlow battled back and forth, and QT Marshall’s interfere tipped the momentum in the champion’s favor. When Marshall argued with the referee, Anderson got in the ring and squared off with him. He pointed his finger-gun at QT, who then backed out of the ring, where Penta El Zero Miedo surprised him with an attacked. Wardlow then powerbombed Hobbs three times for the win.

The victory kicked off Wardlow’s third reign as the TNT Champion ad ended Hobbs run, which began when he beat Wardlow on the March 8 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Wardlow didn’t have long to celebrate, as he was confronted by Christian Cage and Luchasaurus after the bell. The duo stared the new champion down, and in doing so, they made their official return to AEW TV. They have appeared in vignettes in recent weeks, but the duo has been absent for a number of weeks. Cage hadn’t appeared since he lost to “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry at AEW Revolution 2023, while Luchasaurus had been absent since Perry beat him at AEW Full Gear 2022.
