New Japan Pro-Wrestling will crown the first NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion at NJPW Resurgence.
NJPW announced that the May 21 event will feature a one-night tournament to crown the inaugural champion. Mercedes Moné, Willow Nightingale, Stephanie Vaquer, and Momo Kohgo will compete for the gold. Moné is a former IWGP Women’s Champion, and Nightingale has risen to prominence with AEW and ROH over the past several months. Meanwhile, Vaquer is a luchadora from CMLL, ad Momo Kohgo will represent STARDOM.
