Booker T Says It’s Surreal That Vince McMahon Won’t Have Full Control Of WWE Soon

Booker T never thought he’d see the day when Vince McMahon didn’t have full control over WWE.

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently sat down with Scott Fishman of TV Insider to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked if he drew any comparisons in his mind to the recent announcement that WWE and UFC would merge under the Endeavor banner to the AOL/Time Warner merger in the 1990s that was the beginning of the end for WCW, Booker T said that it didn’t and believes this merger will end up making WWE even stronger than before.

“It didn’t make me think about WCW. Even when WCW folded, I wasn’t thinking about it at that point. I was thinking that it was time to move on,” Booker T said. “I think this merger is only going to make things bigger, stronger, and faster. I think you noticed it during WrestleMania weekend over those two days. Everything felt bigger.

“For me, it will be more of that and creating the biggest form of entertainment people can actually come out and be a part of. That’s what WWE has always been about. I think with this merger, it’s only going to get bigger.”

When asked for his thoughts on the fact that Vince McMahon will no longer be in full control of WWE once the merger takes place, Booker T called it surreal and said he never thought it would actually happen.

“It is surreal. I never thought it would happen to be honest with you,” Booker T admitted. “But never say never. One thing is everything is moving so fast these days. People are thinking about making money. It’s like what “Macho Man” Randy Savage said back in the day: Always expect the unexpected. That’s what happened.”
