Roderick Strong Announced For Two Independent Wrestling Events

Roderick Strong is returning to the world of independent wrestling, as he has been announced for two upcoming shows.

Prestige Wrestling announced that Strong will make his return to independent wrestling at their Black Sunshine event in Los Angeles, California, on June 18.

William Quintana, the owner of Prestige, commented by noting that the independent wrestling scene will always be close to Strong’s heart, and he is both honored and thankful that “The Messiah of the Backbreaker” has given the company the opportunity to work with him. Strong replied and seemingly agreed with Quintana.

Plus, during Wrestling REVOLVER‘s Mayhem For All event on May 6, Strong appeared in a video package and confirmed that he will be at the company’s Cage of Horrors event on July 1.

Strong made his AEW debut on the April 26 episode of AEW Dynamite. In his first match with the company, he teamed up with Adam Cole, Orange Cassidy, and Bandido to defeat the Jericho Appreciation Society on the May 3 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Before he arrived in WWE, Stong was one of the top stars on the independent scene; among other titles, he held the ROH World Championship and the PWG World Championship. He signed with WWE in 2016 and had a successful run with the company; as a member of the Undisputed Era, he was a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion. Strong is also a former NXT North American Champion and a former NXT Cruiserweight Champion.
