On the May 8 episode of WWE RAW, The Way reunited on the red brand, as former NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell made her debut. She appeared in a backstage segment with Johnny Gargano, Candice Lerae, and Dexter Lumis. The group was approached by Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville, who were trying to get signatures as they petitioned for a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
After tensions rose, Green and Deville left. Gargano then teased that “he’s coming back soon,” which prompted plenty of speculation as to who the former NXT Champion was talking about.
Hartwell was selected to WWE RAW in the 2023 Draft, and she subsequently relinquished the NXT Women’s Championship on the May 4 episode of WWE NXT. The Way previously reunited when Hartwell won the gold at NXT Stand & Deliver.
