Bronson Reed Reveals Who Came Up With ‘Mr. Nice Guy’ Moniker

Bronson Reed wants to make Monday Night Raw the top program now that the WWE Draft is in the books.

Bronson Reed was given a fresh opportunity in the WWE system when he returned in December 2022. Since his comeback, Reed has made a splash on the Monday Night Raw roster, where he will be staying following the 2023 WWE Draft.

Speaking on the most recent episode of Out of Character podcast with Ryan Satin, Reed explained that he is looking to make Monday Night Raw the dominant brand in WWE now that it will be his permanent home for the foreseeable future.

“I’m a very competitive sort of guy. So like, wherever I’m wrestling at the moment, whatever team I’m with, that’s what I back the most. I was the same when I was with NXT. Now that I’m on Monday Night Raw, and I’m staying on Raw, I want it to be the best brand possible,” he said. I think of 2000-2004. You got a bit of competition with RAW and SmackDown. I hope now that we’re getting the brand split, the same thing happens, and I want to have Monday Night Raw be the ‘A brand.'”

Recently, Reed has been experimenting with his character, portraying a sort of nice guy on television before going out to batter his opponents. Reed is now revealing that that was not actually his idea. Rather, it was the idea of one of the most heralded minds in wrestling history, Paul Heyman.

“The ‘Mr. Nice Guy’ was Paul Heyman. He suggested that,” Bronson recalled. “Obviously, when such a great mind of the business like Paul Heyman suggests anything, you should go with it because he knows what he’s talking about. I’m a huge ECW fan, so if he has an idea, of course, that’s what I’m gonna go with. But yeah, ‘Mr. Nice Guy,’ it is representative of what you see chatting right now. I am that nice guy. You can speak to me. It’s just when I step into the ring that’s when the beast is unleashed. That’s when things change, and I gotta make my money. [The way I make] my money is by cracking skulls.”

Bronson Reed came up short in his attempt to become WWE United States Champion at WWE Backlash. Still, he now has a fresh new Monday Night Raw roster to sink his teeth into.
