Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler say WWE isn’t big enough for two sets of women’s tag team champions.
On the June 9 episode of WWE SmackDown, NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Islw Dawn came to the ring for an interview, but they were quickly interrupted by WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. Rousey said there wasn’t enough room for both of them. They challenged the SmackDown newcomers to a rematch, and they accepted.
The two teams briefly brawled as tensions rose between the champions.
Rousey and Baszler won the titles on the May 29 episode of WWE RAW. Fyre and Dawn brought the NXT titles with them when they were selected by SmackDown in the 2023 WWE Draft.
WWE then confirmed the match for the June 23 episode of WWE SmackDown.
