Jimmy Uso: Trinity Is Open To Returning To WWE

Jimmy Uso shares his thoughts on Trinity, formerly known as Naomi, leaving WWE.

In May 2022, Trinity, who was one-half of the reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions at the time, walked out of WWE RAW with her partner, Sasha Banks. The duo were stripped of their titles and suspended indefinitely. They later left the company, and Trinity has since landed in IMPACT Wrestling. Meanwhile, her husband, Jimmy Uso, remains featured on WWE programming.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Jimmy was asked to describe how hard it has been for him to not be on the road with Trinity since she has left the company.

“It’s been weird,” Jimmy said. “We’d been on the road together since we first started our WWE career, for 12 years, and then all of a sudden, when that happened, just to come from a complete stop and just [the] schedule changing and not seeing her much with our schedule and what she’s doing, it’s been an adjustment, but we make it happen, we make it work.

“She’s having a blast moving at her own pace, which is something that we never really get to do, so she’s enjoying it, doing what she’s been wanting to do. Broadway, music, more acting. She’s having a good time.

Helwani asked Jimmy whether he was worried about his future when Trinity walked out, and he explained that while he wasn’t worried about himself, he wanted to make sure everything was okay. He also looked back on the day of the walk-out.

“I was never really worried about myself. I was just mainly [worried about] her, mainly making sure everything is okay, for a lack of a better term. But I was never worried about myself. I knew we’ll be okay. It wasn’t even about me. I just wanted to make sure everything was good. That day, I was super busy. I had a match, and when I came to the back, she left. So it was already boiling then. I was like, ‘Oh.’ Then we found out everything.”

When asked whether he would he like to see Trinity come back to WWE, Jimmy stated that he would, and he also noted that she would like to return as well. He expressed his hope that it would happen when the time was right.

“Of course, man. Even she would like to come back,” Jimmy said. “At the end of the day, we started our career here in WWE, and in a perfect world, we’d like to finish her at WWE. She’s definitely open to coming back, and when the timing’s right and everything fits, hopefully it works.”

Jey Uso, who was also part of the interview, chimed in by saying, “Please come back. We need her on the road to give me and him a break from each other. Please. She used to be the middleman of all of us. Now we’re just stuck together.”
