The Miz Confirmed For 2023 MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game

The Miz will return to the diamond this weekend.

The Miz is known for his efforts inside a wrestling ring, but he’s done pretty well for himself in other areas too. Before “The A-Lister” travels to Buffalo for his No Disqualification match against Tommaso Ciampa on RAW, he will make a special return to the ball field.

The Miz will take part in the 2023 All-Star Celebrity Softball Game at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. Joining The Miz will be a stacked lineup that includes Miz’s former Dancing With The Stars rival, JoJo Siwa. Actors Adam Devine and Skylar Astin will also be competing.

This year’s roster will also feature several former baseball and softball players. Representing Major League Baseball will be former Seattle Mariners Félix Hernández, Bret Boone, Mike Cameron, and Adam Jones, and former Philadelphia Phillies’ first basemen Ryan Howard. This year’s All-Star Celebrity Softball Game will also mark the return of Olympic Gold Medalists Jennie Finch and Natasha Watley, who carved storied careers at pitcher and shortstop, respectively.

For The Miz, this year marks his fifth outing at the All-Star Celebrity Softball Game. With two prior softball MVP awards already secured in his collection, The Miz will surely be aiming for a third.

MVP Of Everything

Softball isn’t the only sport The Miz has found success in, though. Earlier this year, the former WWE Champion took a step onto the basketball court for the 2023 NBA Celebrity All-Star Game. With less than one second left in the game, his team was down by three points. Just as the buzzer sounded, The Miz landed a half-court shot, which, if counted, would’ve the game for his team. Unfortunately, though, the referees waved off the shot, ruling it as a second too late.

The Miz spoke about his half-court shot with WrestleZone, explaining that he wants to be the MVP of everything he participates in.

“I should have gotten the NBA MVP this year for the Celebrity [All-Star] game. And the reason is I hit a four-point shot. Yes, in celebrity games we have four-point shots. We were down by three and there were 0.7 seconds left. I got it off maybe a little late, maybe one second it took me. But still, when it went in it was a half-court shot,” Miz said. “I should’ve gotten it.

“And then — I know, I did miss it by maybe [one-tenth] of a second. But in that game, we had six people on the court, it’s 6-on-6. We had Richard Jefferson be a referee, a commentator and then a player. You couldn’t budge the rules a little bit to make me the MVP of not only the NBA, but MLB?” said Miz. “It could have been incredible. It could have been an incredible moment. I’m the MVP of WWE, so it’s like [I’d be] the MVP of a little bit of everything.”
