Report: WWE Pitched To Have Eric Young, Mike Bennett In New Wyatt Family

According to a new report, the plans for Bray Wyatt called for a new Wyatt Family, both as early as 2019 and once he came back to WWE in 2022.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that, dating back to 2019, there were pitches for Mike Bennett and Eric Young to be involved in a stable led by Wyatt. Paul Heyman reportedly pitched to have the two stars work with Wyatt, but the pitch only made it to Bennett. Multiple pitches were made, and one idea suggested that Bennett would play Sister Abigail. However, the pitches didn’t get that far.

Young was the subject of more Wyatt-centric pitches when he returned to WWE in 2022. He was set to be involved in a new version of the Wyatt Family with Wyatt and Uncle Howdy. These plans were set in January, and they were supposed to begin after WrestleMania 29. But Wyatt was sidelined with an illness, and he and Uncle Howdy have been absent for months.

Young asked for his release in April, and he ultimately returned to IMPACT Wrestling at the Slammiversary pay-per-view on July 15.

Per Sapp, some pitches also called for Alexa Bliss to join the group, but these ideas were dropped when it was clear that she wouldn’t be available due to her maternity leave.

In an interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Bennett previously confirmed that he was set to perform as Sister Abigail.

Young commented on his return to IMPACT. Check out his comments here.
