Scorpio Sky Injured, Pulled From AEW Rampage Match

An injury has forced a last-minute change to this week’s episode of AEW Rampage.

In the midst of Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, the company announced that Scorpio Sky would battle Kip Sabian on Friday’s episode of Rampage.

As Rampage tapings began after Dynamite, however, AEW President Tony Khan informed the audience that Sky had sustained an injury. Due to this injury, Sky was pulled from the match and replaced by the recently signed luchador Komander.

Following this development, which was originally posted by Twitter user @JapanesePurore1, AEW shared the news to their Twitter account, noting that Sky hadn’t been cleared to compete.

“Friday Night #AEWRampage @Komandercrmx vs. @thekipsabian! Scorpio Sky has not been cleared to compete, therefore it will be luchador sensation Komander against Kip Sabian! Don’t miss #AEWRampage TOMORROW at 10pm ET/9pm CT on @tntdrama!” AEW tweeted.

The details surrounding Scorpio Sky’s current injury remain unknown at this time. WrestleZone will provide an update as more information becomes available.

Prior to Sky’s in-return early this month, the former TNT Champion had been out of action for a year. Leading into his match against Wardlow in July 2022, Sky had reportedly been dealing with a leg injury. After losing the TNT Championship to Wardlow, Sky then went on hiatus to take care of his leg. Sky finally returned to action on the July 8, 2023 episode of Collision, where he defeated Action Andretti.
