Tomohiro Ishii will be out of action due to an injury he suffered competing for AEW.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced that Ishii suffered a dislocated shoulder while competing at an AEW event in October. He will now be forced to miss action on “forthcoming events,” and a return date has not been determined.
“On October 22, at an AEW event in San Antonio, Texas, Tomohiro Ishii sustained a dislocated right shoulder. As a result, Ishii will miss action on forthcoming events, with his return to be determined,” New Japan Pro-Wrestling wrote in a statement. “We apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Ishii wrestle, and appreciate your understanding. NJPW joins fans in wishing Ishii a full and fast recovery.”
Ishii’s last match was the aforementioned match for AEW on October 22. He competed against the Death Riders’ PAC on Collision, picking up a loss in the bout.
Ishii was not part of the lineup for New Japan’s World Tag League, which begins on November 20. The tournament runs through December 14.
