Backstage News On When Roman Reigns Is Expected To Drop The WWE Universal Championship

If you’ve been enjoying Roman Reigns‘ historic run as WWE Universal Champion, you’re in luck because it doesn’t sound like it’s ending anytime soon.

The Head of the Table won the WWE Universal Championship at WWE Packback on August 30, 2020. A reign that has propelled him into the record books alongside some of the greatest WWE Champions of all time.

But if you were expecting Roman’s run to end anytime soon, I’m afraid we have some bad news.

According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), as of WrestleMania 39, there were no active plans within WWE for Roman Reigns to drop the Universal Championship.

When Sapp straight up asked a high source within WWE when The Tribal Chief was expected to drop his title, he was told:

“Whenever Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman say it f**kin’ ends.”

Heavy Input

The WWE higher-up indicated that when Reigns finally drops his title, he and Paul Heyman will have heavy input in that decision.

“They are constantly looking at every possibility. When they think it’s the very best thing for business, they’ll know to switch it up, do it right, and really make someone doing it.”

The source justified Roman’s victory over Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39 by saying that Reigns and Rhodes are hotter than ever as individual acts. Not to mention that Solo Sikoa and The Usos have greatly benefited from their continued association with The Tribal Chief.
