WWE SummerSlam 2023 Was Highest-Grossing SummerSlam Of All Time

WWE SummerSlam 2023 set a number of new records.

On August 5, WWE presented SummerSlam from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. At the press conference after the show, Triple H highlighted the success of the event. Now, a press release has detailed the numerous ways that SummerSlam was a record-setting show.

WWE announced that SummerSlam 2023 was the most-watched and highest-grossing SummerSlam in company history. The event broke the records for viewership, gate, sponsorship and merchandise.

The press release also noted that SummerSlam generated a record gate of $8.5 million, the largest gate for any non-WrestleMania event ever. WWE also announced that it was the most-watched SummerSlam in company history, and it ranked among the top three audiences in the history of WWE on Peacock.

WWE SummerSlam 2023 Broke More Records

SummerSlam 2023 also generated the most sponsorship for any non-WrestleMania event ever with $7 million. The show was sponsored by Slim Jim®, C4 and Rocket Mortgage, among others. Additionally, merchandise sales were up 60 percent as compared to the record set in 2021. As a result, SummerSlam had the best performance for any non-WrestleMania premium live event in company history.

Plus, WWE announced that On Location packages were up 47 percent compared to 2022, so they also set a new SummerSlam record. As for engagement numbers, SummerSlam became the most-viewed social SummerSlam of all time with over 230 million views and four million hours of video consumed. These numbers were up 26 percent over last year.
